Ten members of GPF-Korea Daegu Chapter volunteered at a meal center for single elderly in Dalsung-gun Senior Community Center, in Daegu City on April 25.
The Daegu Chapter members cooked and served rice and side dishes to 300 seniors. Each senior got an extra side dish of wishes for a long and healthy life.
One volunteer said, “They remind me of my own parents who passed away.” She said she wanted to do something nice for the seniors as if they were her own parents who were no longer with her.
The volunteers from the Daegu Chapter were exhausted, but happy that they made so many elderly smile. They felt proud. Many of the volunteers expressed a desire to continue to serve.
Daegu Chapter plans to serve at the meal center for those in need on a regular basis.
